How to check engine oil

1. Park the car on level ground and let the engine cool for a few minutes.
2. Pull out the dipstick, wipe it off, and insert it again.
3. Pull it out again and read the level. The oil should be between min and max.

Low oil levels can cause engine damage. The oil light on the instrument panel will illuminate if the pressure is critically low – in that case, you should stop immediately.

Brake fluid

Brake fluid is vital for the brakes to work. The level is checked on the reservoir in the engine compartment. If the level drops noticeably, it may indicate a leak, and the car should not be driven until the issue is fixed.

Coolant

The engine produces a lot of heat. Coolant circulates through the engine and radiator to maintain the correct operating temperature. Check the level in the expansion tank when the engine is cold. The overheating warning symbol on the dashboard requires an immediate stop.

Windshield washer fluid

Good visibility is a prerequisite for safe driving. Keep the washer fluid reservoir filled and use antifreeze during winter. An empty reservoir means you cannot clean the windshield of salt, slush, and insects.
