Highway Signs

• Highway start shows a green sign with a highway symbol. From here, highway rules apply.
• Highway end lifts the rules. Adjust speed and be ready for new signs.
• Exit signs with number and direction appear well in advance before the exit.
• The distance to the next exit is shown on distance panels.

Service Signs

Service signs have a blue background with a white symbol and show facilities along the road:- Gas station, rest area, toilet, and accommodation.

• Emergency phone and first aid at highways and tunnels.
• Service signs do not impose any obligation but provide useful information for planning a long trip .

Typical traps

• Confusing green highway signs with blue expressway signs. The rules are the same, but the type of road is different.
• Overlooking exit signs and missing the exit. Never reverse or turn around on a highway.
