Tractor driver's license class T

Driver’s License Class T gives you the right to drive a tractor and motorized equipment with a design speed of up to 40 km/h on public roads. This class is relevant for many who work in agriculture, construction, or municipal operations.

Age Requirements

What can you drive with class T?

• Tractor with a design speed of up to 40 km/h
• Motorized equipment such as road graders, wheel loaders, and similar
• Trailer for tractor and motorized equipment
• Some self-propelled machines used in agriculture or construction

Training Requirements

You must complete the basic traffic course and pass the theory test at the Norwegian Public Roads Administration. There is no requirement for driving lessons with a driving school, but you must have sufficient practice driving.

For private practice driving, the following applies:

• You must be at least 16 years old
• The accompanying person must have held a class T driving license for at least 5 years
• The tractor must be in regulatory condition
