What is the YSK Basic Course?
YSK basic course (professional driver competence basic course) is a mandatory training for anyone who will drive a bus or truck in commercial or paid transport. The course provides you with the competence required to obtain a professional driver certificate code 95 on your driving license.
Course Content and Scope
The basic course is 140 hours and combines theory with practical training.

Who Needs YSK?
YSK is mandatory for anyone who:- Drives a truck (class C/C1) or bus (class D/D1) for payment
- Transports goods or people as part of professional activity
- Has obtained a driving license for heavier classes after September 10, 2009 (truck) or after September 10, 2008 (bus)
Drivers who obtained their license after these dates are exempt from the basic course, but must still take continuing education.

With completed YSK basic course, you can start professional driving at a lower age than normal.
Accelerated Program
There is an accelerated course of 140 hours for drivers who want to start professional driving at a reduced age. This grants the right to drive a bus from 21 years old or a truck from 18 years old, but with some limitations on the vehicle’s size during the first few years.
After the basic course
- You will get code 95 added to your driving license, which documents your professional driver competence.
- The competence is valid for five years, after which you must take refresher training .
- Familiarize yourself with the rules for driving and rest periods .
